Mato Homola and SEAT are heading in a good direction
Slovak representative Mato Homola is working hard to prepare for upcoming FIA ETCC season. In this European Championship, he will compete for the front places with a brand new car. He already had a chance to test twice his new SEAT Leon Cup Racer.
Mato, who raced with rear-wheel-drive for past 3 years, got after a couple of laps used to front-wheel-drive car. Last week it was his second time he had tested the car, but this time the team used new Yokohama tyres, in order to find an optimal balance and set-up the car. The team did a good job as Mato managed to set almost the same time as he had in last season´s qualifying session, where he scored a pole position.
Although there was a rallycross event a couple of days before the testing, which resulted in a bad grip on the race track, team Homola Motorsport was very happy with the results. "Honestly, I have to say, I'm very satisfied", said Mato Homola at Slovakia Ring. "I had to learn to drive FWD SEAT during the first testing day – to find the proper and driving line through corners etc. But during the second testing day I pushed harder, managed to do good lap times and the feeling of the car is great. We know how improve even more – team needs to find a set-up to fit my driving style. After these two testing days, we can say that we made the best decision with choosing SEAT, which should be the fastest car in FIA ETCC. I'm looking forward to testing it again!"
Homola Motorsport should take part in two testing days until the first event of FIA ETCC at Hungaroring (02 - 03. 05. 2015). In a couple of days, Homola Motorsport will decide which design they will win the Design Competition.
